Description
Picture is looking down from a wooden overlook, balcony style, at half of the 63 foot tall Blackwater Falls, the other half being obscured by trees. Red Spruce trees abound in the roof country of West Virginia, featured close by are several large ones. Featured to the left of the waterfall is a wooden deck that offers the only guided access into the Blackwater canyon, and the only other access is difficult steep unmarked trails with chilling warning signs posted at their entrances. The canyon is extremely wild and dangerous, and any trekking through should only be undertaken by the healthy and never done alone. The canyon here where photographed is a mere 150 feet deep, but quickly after the waterfall the height of canyon becomes 700 feet with extremely steep walls.
