West Virginia's Tucker County Pictures

The first set were taken during Labor Day weekend in 2006, originally forecasted to be a picture perfect weekend until tropical depression Ernesto delivered a soaking rain to the eastern highlands of West Virginia. While weather moves in fast at high elevations, rain is often slow to clear out. Two days after the storm blew through, the storm's lingering effects — constant misting rain and dense fog — proved to hang on throughout the first day of photographing. In hindsight this provided a unique opportunity to capture some beautiful, albeit rather dreary, scenes.
