Description
The sun angled perfectly to allow this scene to play out where the waters of Laurel Hill Lake are in shade while the background scene was warmly lit by an evening broadcast of the sun's light. The bridge over the Laurel Hill Dam provided a stark contrast to a scene of superb natural beauty. While at the park most of the day I noticed many photographers packing it up and heading home long before the perfect scenes like these begin to play out. The best time for photography at Laurel Hill Lake is the last hour before the sun sets behind Laurel Ridge, and the best day for that is when the color briefly peaks in October. This scene is probably only possible one evening a year with some years skipped due to in climate conditions.
