Cucumber Falls, a Column of Ice and Snow

A particularly cold January and February in 2004 had frozen Ohiopyle’s Cucumber Falls into a hard column of ice, while filling in the ravine floor with ice and snow perhaps over 12 feet deep (thusly reducing the height of the frozen waterfall significantly). Pictured are some ice climbers enjoying a rare opportunity to climb on one of Pennsylvania's most beautiful waterfalls.
