Description
Featured is an interesting effect, yet easily recreated about noon in the summer months making the Jumonville Cross and the summit of Dunbar Knob, elevation 2495 feet, silhouetted by the sun peaking through thin clouds. The Jumonville Cross commands an excellent view of the city of Uniontown below. It can be seen for 14 miles, especially noticeable at night when it is lighted a brilliant white. The Cross is peaceful gesture above the spot where George Washington skirmished a group of French scouts which started the French and Indian War (or Seven Years War).
