Washington Monument Seen from the Tidal Basin

The ancient Egyptian style needle pointing skyward that is the Washington Monument can be seen in the background while overlooking the Tidal Basin. Washington is a unique city as no building can be made as tall as or taller than the Washington Monument; hence many of the buildings are enormous in all dimensions but skyward. The trees lining the Tidal Basin are just beginning to show some Autumn color in the first week of October.
