Commentary
I would say that George Washington is the man I admire most from American History. The United States would not be as it is today if it weren't for this 18th century Virginian planter. Given this, I felt it an honor to see his estate in northeastern Virginia. Given that this was a brief trip to his home, I could not wait for the sun to be better situated for good photographs. So a lot of these were taken about noon with a cruel sun bleaching or darkening many of the photos. Such are the limits of travel photography. But these few posted above still looked good enough to have hanging on my wall, and so they are listed here. I hope to one day go back to visit Mount Vernon, for I truly enjoyed the gardens and estate designed by George Washington himself. And there are many features of this estate which I would like to photograph, including his tomb.
