Canaan Valley Bog with Blackwater River in Autumn
Fall foliage sets the mood for this picture of the bog within Canaan Valley along split by the Blackwater River. In the distance is the base of Canaan Mountain. The entire forest surrounding Davis, West Virginia was aflame with autumn color when I photographed this picture on October 12, 2009. Dreary cloudy, fog, and drizzle conditions really helped me to get some intimate shots of the bog that day.
