Slippery Rock Creek Boulders and Green Moss

Slippery Rock Creek Boulders and Green Moss

The tread of any boot can best be tested by walking the sandstone rocks of all sizes lining Slippery Rock Creek in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania particularly on a foggy morning as this picture followed. These are the slickest rocks I have ever encountered. Photograph taken from below the Slippery Rock Gorge Trail and features impressively sized sandstone rocks that were seemingly thrown in from different directions while a limestone rock almost as big as a small house dominates the background. Everywhere I hiked this morning evidence of autumn could be seen by fallen leaves and orange colored trees save this spot that looks as green and lush as a summer day.
