Pinkerton Horn Peninsula in Casselman River in Fall

Pinkerton Horn peninsula within the Casselman River has perfect fall foliage in this photo taken directly from the Great Allegheny Passage Trail's Pinkerton High Bridge in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The Pinkerton Horn is a 1.5 mile bend in the river that was too tight to follow forcing the railroad to tunnel through it instead. Trail riders enjoy two trail bridges in close proximity with an astounding view of this wild mountain river. The distant slopes forming the Casselman Gorge belong to Negro Mountain that rises to the highest point in Pennsylvania, Mount Davis.
