Casparis Lookout Point on Chestnut Ridge in Fall

Picture taken at the Casparis Lookout Point that is perched over twelve hundred feet above the Youghiogheny River at the Chestnut Ridge water gap. Lookout Point, as locals refer to it, is one of the most scenic overlooks in Fayette County and accessible via some rough dirt roads within PA State Game Land 51 and not far from the former Casparis mine that is the area's namesake. The overlook is clear from trees thanks to a several hundred foot cliff that is topped by the rock in the lower left part of the picture. In the far distance can be seen the top of Laurel Ridge that was blistered red with fall foliage.
