Autumn Surrounds Eastern White Pines on Ferncliff Peninsula
Whitewater rapids of the Youghiogheny River are rounding Ferncliff Peninsula that features a stand of old and very tall Eastern White Pine trees green contrast to the advanced autumn forest canopy surrounding them. Picture was taken on October 25, 2006 where Cucumber Run empties into the river. The 2006 autumn was one of Ohiopyle's best in many years, featuring an impressive fall foliage show that engulfed the entire forest at the same time.
