Granite Rock Formations with Point Atkinson Lighthouse West Vancouver, BC

Douglas Fir and Western Hemlock can be seen past the shoreline of granite rock that twists in beautiful patterns leading all the way to the distant Point Atkinson Lighthouse of West Vancouver, British Columbia. To get to this spot I hiked beautiful hiking trails through moss green rain forest of "Lighthouse Park" that eventually opened up to the shores of the Pacific Ocean lined with granite. Across the water can be seen one of the world's best looking cities, Vancouver, British Columbia. Captain George Vancouver named the point in 1795 where the lighthouse, built in 1875, stands.
