The Rabbit Ears Peak of the Organ Mountains
The warm light of a morning sun cast against the gray granite Rabbit Ears peaks of the Organ Mountains, specifically South, Middle, and North Rabbit Ears with the middle being the highest in elevation at 8,150 feet. This photograph was snapped from just above the Aguirre Spring Road near the beginning of the Baylor Pass Trail where not long afterwards I met my first Mountain Lion in the wild staring down at me from a distant bluff. It was a chilling enough scene to convince me to head back down the trail towards my car, and I was relieved it didn't follow.
