Fort Williams Park and Portland Head Light

Picture taken from behind the lighthouse and looking out past its rocky foundation at the Portland Head Light and in the distant ocean can be seen yet another on a small island. Cape Elizabeth, Maine's Fort Williams Park contains ruins of an old fort, but its most famous feature is this most photographed lighthouse. This picture was taken shortly before sunset in late July giving the lighthouse and its buildings an almost painted look.
