Sonoran Desert Plants in San Tan Mountains
The Sonoran Desert of Arizona is often quite lush for an arid landscape with its two seasons of rain a year. This picture contains typical plants of the Sonoran with a mountain of the San Tan range rising in the background. Creosote Bush, Silver Cholla, Velvet Mesquite, and the desert's most famous resident the Saguaro Cactus can all be seen in this picture. San Tan Regional Park has plenty of dusty trails good for hiking, mountain bike and horseback riding in northwestern Pinal County.
