Ponderosa Pines on Pinal Mountain at Dusk

Ponderosa Pines on Pinal Mountain at Dusk

A picture of Ponderosa Pine Trees taken in the Pinal Mountains from along Forest Service Road 651 late in the evening on February 17, 2015. The mountains reside in the Tonto National Forest and feature campgrounds and picnic areas offering people a cool respite from the blazing heat in the desert below. Pinal Peak is 7,848 feet and dominates the Globe, Arizona skyline with its lush green complex of additional mountain peaks. The quietness when I took this picture was truly deafening. An entire forest, an entire mountain, and not a breeze and not a sound as the sunlight faded to dusk.
