Armer Mountain from Parker Creek Canyon's Edge
Armer Mountain, a member of the Sierra Ancha range, is seen prominently in the distance while the formidable walls of Parker Creek Canyon make up the foreground. Parker Canyon's cliffs, here largely made up of dripping spring quartzite, can be as tall as 750 feet as the canyon itself is nearly twice that depth. Parker is the larger of a series of repeating canyons along the western edge of the Sierra Ancha Mountains. The photograph was taken from a 4600 foot elevation where semi-desert grassland gives way to madrean evergreen woodland. Armer Mountain has several peaks that exceed 7200 feet.
