Description
Picture is looking out across the Youghiogheny River (and some kayakers) toward the perfectly lit Ferncliff Peninsula fall foliage. Ferncliff Peninsula hosts different plant life from the surrounding park as plants from warmer areas of Maryland and West Virginia are protected there from extreme temperatures by the Youghiogheny River. This difference in vegetation is most noticeable during the peak of autumn, with tremendous color variations between Ferncliff and the opposite shores.
