Evening's Golden Sunshine Penetrating the River Gorge

The sun's last light is cast against some trees at the tip of the Flats along the Youghiogheny River. Darkness comes early deep within the ravine of the Youghiogheny River Gorge for this picture was taken about 4:30 PM on October 22, 2002. Photograph taken just off of the Youghiogheny River Trail between Ohiopyle and Confluence, PA. The Flats is an unusually large and low peninsula in the river, surrounded by the heights of Laurel Ridge.
