Youghiogheny River with Sunset Gold near Connellsville
This strange scene caught me in disbelief as I crossed an old run down Railroad Bridge couple miles north of Connellsville, PA. While a beautiful sunset with warm light on a hazy evening predictably turned the trees on the hillside above the river orange in color, a stand of trees lining the river remained in shadow. This had the effect of making some of the trees appearing green and others an almost orange, both of which reflected beautifully in the largely still waters in the Youghiogheny River. I was able to access this beautiful portion of the river via the Youghiogheny River Trail (now part of the Great Allegheny Passage Trail).
