Mount Davis High Tower's Fall Foliage View

Mount Davis High Tower's Fall Foliage View

God-beams piercing through clouds hovering over Pennsylvania's highest point: Mount Davis and casting mixed light over a colorful display of fall foliage as photographed from the top of the observation Tower on top of the mountain. Clear blue skies were everywhere as I photographed the fall foliage across Somerset County on October 15, 2016 except along the top of Mount Davis. The alpine summit features stunted plants that are more common in Canada, and averages 151 inches of snow. It's highest temperature ever recorded was only 86 degrees. I usually arrive to its cool windy top from the east as picturesque Amish farms are common there.
