McConnells Mill with Surrounding Fall Foliage
Picture shows a view of McConnells Mill and a portion of the mill's spillway as seen from the opposite shore of Slippery Rock Creek. The mill and creek is back dropped by an impressive display of fall foliage contrasted with the green foliage of several Eastern Hemlock trees. The gristmill is located in the bottom of a deep gorge and took advantage of the fast flowing creek to grind flour. Large sandstone rocks can be seen and line the creek in this area.
