First Water Canyon above Salt River Valley
This desert grasslands photograph was taken from along State Route 288 Globe-Young Highway climbing the Sierra Ancha Mountains and features First Water Canyon high above the Salt River Valley below along with the distant Four Peaks Mountain flanking the valley's western edge. The canyon in the foreground is almost the dividing line between Saguaro Cactus and the appearance of Juniper and Cedar while only a few miles further the road becomes shaded by Ponderosa and Douglas Fir pines.
